A play break from cleaning

Early this spring I had planned to take down the items sitting on the high shelf in the living room and dust, etc. However, when I had ear problems the cleaning was postponed. So today was the day to get out the ladders, vacuum and get busy.

We have an in-house vacuum system and wouldn't you know one of the lines was plugged so it took me another half hour to find the owner's manual to figure out how to unclog it. Actually, it was pretty simple (should have listened to Jim) because you had to reverse the flow. I hooked up my standup vacuum and sucked out the line. With two golden retreivers, they leave lots of fuzzies. No wonder the line was plugged.

The greenery on the shelf was covered in dust and it was a major job because of the up and down ladder routine. I took them in the shower and rinsed them off and now they look so bright and clean again. We also have a large ficus tree and it too went in the shower for a dust shakedown.

I ran out of energy, fixed lunch and decided I had enough cleaning for today.

THUS, I got to play using PhotoShop to create an ATC for Mixed Media Trends. The final lesson for the workshop covered "layers" and we were to create an ATC using multiple layers. This was my creation. (Keep in mind I'm still a novice, but find it very fun and I keep learning new tricks by merely experimenting with the options. If I was to do it over, I would either crop the lady image more or leave more length showing more of her body because the puffy sleeves make it appear she is without arms.

I WOULD APPRECIATE ANY AND ALL SUGGESTIONS!

It's hard to really tell, as the image is so small, but your comments reminded me of something I learned quite a while ago: never cut off limbs in the middle, as it makes them look amputated. I wouldn't really have noticed, I don't think, if you hadn't mentioned it though... I think you've done a wonderful job on the blending on this one!

I think it looks fabulous Carolyn! You've picked great elements that work well together. I really like how you've worked with the opacity of the layers too. I think you're right in moving the lady a bit. You might want to play around with the placement of the cross, her face and the sparkle star to create a stronger visual triangle, which is something my guru HeatherT is always reminding me about ;) Great job!
