It's Grungy Monday (on Tuesday)

The theme for this week's challenge at Studio L3 is from Tim Holtz' 12 Days of Christmas tags - Day 10, 2007.
The technique, shabby chic, and many more can be found by checking out Tim's web site and going to his blog.   Rather than using a regular light colored shipping tag, I selected a black one.  I attempted to use yellow and orange paint daubers but the paint was too dry so I went to a gold and white generic brand but that didn't work to my satisfaction so I applied a metallic green over the top and then wiped the inks off of the clear embossed image.  I really like this effect.

The tag was not adorned with fibers or ribbons because I may want to add some fancy elements depending on its final use.

LOVE HOW THIS ONE TURNED OUT!  The stamped image is a floral by Penny Black.

Love the color! And the Penny Black stamps do work great with this. I can't wait to see how you finish it.

Oh, my, I really LOVE this look on the black background! I agree-- the effect you created is amazing, and the metallic shimmer makes this look like fine marble. Gorgeous work, Carolyn!
