Over at Mixed Media Trends, the March background paper technique by Cindy Powell called for cheesecloth. You adhere the cloth to your substrate using glue and then cover it with a glaze. I only had a clear and some pastel shades of glaze so after adding both, I used some acrylic paints for additional color. I also used a couple of the Tim Holtz masks. When I added color around and on top of the masks, I used a ball of cheesecloth to sponge on the paint rather than the dry brush technique. Hopefully, you can see the iridescent yellow acrylic paint. I really like the iridescent colors.
This was a very fun technique.

How interesting! I wonder how it would look adhered with gesso... now you've got me all fired up, and no cheesecloth in sight or within 25 miles! *lol*
Hi Carolyn, This looks fun!! I'm going to have to give it a try, see you Monday evening!!
ohhhhhhhhhh!! How cool is that!!
This is my favorite! Subtle complexities. I would put this one on my wall. It is inspiring.
