Grungy Monday on Friday

The technique that Linda suggested we use for this week was from a video at Ranger Industries called Multi-Medium.  You apply the medium as a resist and then use Distressed Inks to add color around the image to make it pop.

I wanted to use some of Tim Holtz's new idea-ology paper stack for my card because it has some really terrific backgrounds.  However, when I applied my Distressed Inks around the gel medium and sprayed it with water (after it was completely dry), I rubbed off some of the medium and the contrast was not to my liking.

SO . . . I had some of the new Distressed Stains and swiped them over the areas where I had applied the gel medium and I like the effect a lot.

One more thing....for the stamped images, I cut some foam using the Big Z tattered floral die and swiped them in the gel medium to obtain the images on the card.

Click on the link for Studio L3 to view the projects the team created using this technique.  AWESOME!

Gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous, Carolyn! Isn't it great when you think you've screwed up a piece and the fix ends up making it all the better?? I think you just created a wonderful new technique! I love everything about this elegant, shabby-CHIC work of art!
