For the past several months, our hostess for the September meeting asked us to save items that we would normally toss out to share and use for the September project. You won't believe the pile of junk that we sorted through on Monday night. There were boxes, paper rolls, fabric, beads, ribbons and all kinds of trinkets. We were to construct an UGLY PROJECT that had some significance on a personal basis. We could use a hot glue gun, needle and thread or a stapler. All other craft items were not allowed.
I was sneaky and brought a few items for my project that I saved from my last hospital visit. Below is my UGLY DIVA. She has a big heart and loves flowers.

ha ha ... such a fun project. I'd say it's difficult for you to make something look 'ugly'. I think she's cute. I'll be in touch personally soon .. take care. hugs, Donna xoxo

Hi Carolyn! I loved reading your blog post and the idea of taking a bunch of "stuff" and turning it into something meaningful and creative. You have no idea how many times I've wanted to get a group together and do just that! I think your Diva is awesome! I also wanted to thank you so much for stopping by my blog and leaving such a kind comment. I am just learning how to draw and for that reason, you will notice that my girl has no face! haha But, I think the point of the pages gets across quite nicely without a face. I encourage you to go for it in 2016! That is what I am doing now...working up the courage to draw faces and work on drawing in my art journal more than relying on other people's stamped images to use in my art journal pages. Have a fantastic weekend.
HA ha ... made me smile. Such whimsy ... she's gorgeous! Lots of fun putting her together. hugs, Donna
