I made my first Japanese bound book with beads on the spine. I have made other starbooks; however, this was my first with handstitched signature pages.
The book was made for a friend whose name I drew for a gift exchange. It is really difficult to make or purchase a gift for someone so special. The joy, however, came back to me when she opened her package and liked the contents.
The true spirit of Christmas is giving of oneself and it was so evident at our get-together yesterday as packages were exchanged. As the year comes to a close and we celebrate the holidays I feel so fortunate to have a wonderful family and a life filled with treasured friends.
