A 'SPRING' tag star book

I made a more colorful star book using shipping tags, connecting the tags together with silver cord. I like this version as I await spring and all its glory. Some of the images on the cover are new images available from Inka Stamps.

Dorland Wax Resist

One of my great sources of inspiration is art by Wanda Hentges. She recently did a wax resist using a stencil with Micro Glaze. However, I didn't have this product so I tried it using Dorland Wax. I set the brass stencil on the lightweight pastel cardstock, applied Dorland wax with my finger to the open area of the stencil, removed and used spray washes over the card. This is a quick and fun technique for a resist.

Spirelli

For an upcoming local stamp club retreat, I am going to show the gals how to do spirelli. I made this card as my working sample using one of Inka's Lovely Ladies collage images. The background was created with a Cuttlebug embossing folder.

TAG Star Book

I was inspired by Jen Lowe when she created a star book using tags and a Bind-it-All machine to hook the tags together.

My version uses the standard shipping tag and I used a comb binding to connect the tags down the center.

The ephemera and stamped images are from Inka Stamps and I also used various stickers and Washi papers to enhance the booklet. Below are three views of the opened star book.

Beryl Taylor Workshop Assignment

For the past three weeks, one of our groups selected Beryl Taylor's book for a workshop. This card is my final project showing fused fibers that I covered with a preprinted transparency and added an air dry clay charm as an embellishment (from a previous week's assignment).

The scan appears crooked because I scanned the card and the heavy embellishment tweaked it. For the other weeks we worked with fabrics using our sewing machine -- not my cup of tea.

Project for Inka Stamps

The project I created for Inka Stamps has been featured on her site for the month of March. (Thank you, Inka.)

If you would like instructions on how I created these two pieces, you can find them on her web page under projects.

Local Stamp Club Challenge

One of my local stamp clubs has an ongoing swap where we all make a card using the same stamp(s). It was my turn to create a project from a Stamp'n Up Set Haute Couture. This is what I created, adding a hat as my embellishment.
